About the article
In the Dutch designers magazine Dude, in the spring edition of 2016, the work of Studio Renate Boere and Christie van der Haak is shown. The caption reads:
Christie van der Haak, Sproken was designed by Renate Boere. Boere translated Christie van der Haak’s world of experience into a visual fairy tale of 416 pages with the aim of showing the paintings and the often previously unseen patterns ‘applied’ in imaginary spaces. Virtual palace rooms hung with patterns made by Christie van der Haak, who won the Ouborg Prize in 2015, are the result. These palace rooms were then implemented in reality by an exhibition in the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag. Endless possibilities with Van der Haak’s work reveal themselves to the reader. At the back of the book, her best work per series is shown in chronological order. More than five hundred works – not even a fifth of all her work – provide a wonderful overview of Van der Haak’s development to date: from painter to installation artist.
