About the award
Food Design has received the special title Honerable Mention at the International Design Awards 2017!
The International Design Awards (IDA) exists to recognize, celebrate and promote legendary design visionaries and to uncover emerging talent in Architecture, Interior, Product, Graphic and Fashion Design. IDA draws attention to the iconoclasm of design worldwide: conceptualizing and producing great work. Next year may we can collect our award at the bi-anual gala event in Los Angeles!
About the Design
‘Food Design’ is the first book about the consumer, industry and sustainable development by design concerning our daily food.
The book, designed by Studio Renate Boere, presents a wonderful overview of 35 richly illustrated design projects, events and products in the light of current developments in the mutable world of food.
Studio Renate Boere chose to give the design process of Katja Gruijters’ products a significant role in the book. Together they’ve been looking for photographs which show the process of food creation in a narrative way. The general text about sustainability is designed in a different manner than the 35 projects, this makes the book much more than a list of successful projects, it provides an insight into the careful considerations of the designer.
