About the book
This visual story is about how people think it should be. About how and when things are beautiful. In search of an experience and an ideal. And that is how small or monumental alienations arise. This is visible, for example, in hotels, airports, lounges, avenues, ‘resorts’ by the sea. The beauty often lies in the inability to maintain this decor, or the way in which people try to maintain themselves in this cultivated reality. It says something about the alienation in our relationship with the world, from our dreams and our ideals. Natascha sought to put this urge for feasibility into perspective. In hotels, and beyond.
