About the exhibition

From 9 October to 8 November 2009, BLAAK10 will show the results of the 89 Plakate project, initiated by the German design agency Anschlaege. A total of sixty posters will be on display with the theme Twenty years after the fall of the Wall.

This project was part of Geschichtsforum 1989-2009, an international forum on science, culture, politics, media and debate that took place from 28 to 31 May 2009 in Berlin. Forty internationally renowned designers, such as Pierre Bernard and Gunther Rambow, WdKA lecturer Renate Boere and three academies: Willem de Kooning Academy Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee and the Ecole Supérieure d’Art et Design d’Amiens, gave their view on the changes in Europe twenty years after the fall of the Wall and the end of the Cold War. The posters were on display life-size at the most important location in Berlin: Unter den Linden.
