About the book
Students from the Academy Minerva Groningen and Studio Renate Boere have joined forces and taken action. In response to Freek de Jonge’s call to set up a Delta Plan for Groningen, the students have mapped out the earthquake problems of Groningen in an artistic way. In doing so, they illustrate their vision for the future of the province .
This is bundled in a beautiful, almost 200-page paperback full of illustrations.
You can send the gift, preferably wrapped in gift paper, to the press room: PO Box 20018 House of Representatives, for the attention of a politician of your choice.
Mark Rutte is not in the House of Representatives, if you want to send him a book, send it to Postbus 20001, Ministry of General Affairs, for the attention of the Prime Minister.
Why? Because we also believe that creatives can make an important contribution to the prosperity of a country. The Delta Plan, once developed by creatives, has been a great success for the Netherlands. Since then, we have been famous and praised worldwide for our innovative solutions for the dangers of the sea. Investing in a clear vision, collaboration, creative solutions and innovation is the key to success! We also need such a plan for Groningen, and actually for the whole of the Netherlands. Artists, designers, engineers and architects are raring to go! Beautiful research is emerging. For example, into sustainable materials and new ways of building. A positive wind will immediately blow over the country.We Dutch could once again be leaders in the field of innovation. This time in the field of solutions for earthquake hazards, sustainable use of materials and energy saving. NO GUTS NO GLORY!

About the Design
‘NO GUTS NO GLORY! A Delta Plan for Groningen’ is more than just a book; it is a political statement addressing the plausible issues caused by earthquakes through artistic and creative approaches. The collaboration between students and Studio Renate Boere brings to life the seismic challenges of the region, offering a visionary perspective through 200 pages filled of intriguing illustrations and thought-provoking messages. Each page exemplifies a unified effort, advocating for innovative solutions and underscoring the vital roles of artists, designers, engineers, and architects in shaping a resilient future for Groningen and beyond.
In an effort to spur further action, the book was delivered to the Prime Minister, aiming to influence decision-makers at the highest level. By presenting ministerial leaders with a comprehensive and visually engaging account of the issues and potential solutions, ‘NO GUTS NO GLORY!’ seeks to inspire concrete political action and the development of a Delta Plan for Groningen.
